Kovu has black hair that falls below his eyes. He has never tried to keep it very clean, but after joining up with the animoprhs he adopted a much healthier hair care style. He has a normal, if not slightly thin build, his skin is a light, pale tan that is dotted with a few flat moles. He rarely smiles, but his teeth are a sparkly white, and he has deep dimples in his cheeks. His hands and feet are rough from his previous lifestyle, and they are often speckled with cuts. Kovu's eyes are a beautiful hazel and they often gaze into the distance almost looking into space.
The small wardrobe Kovu owns is composed of loose T-shirts and comfortable jeans, he wears this and almost only this. Usually, and especially on cold days, he will wear his one dark jacket, but that is the only extra garment he will wear. He dreads anything dressy and avoids suits at all costs. Kovu never wears any jewelery, mostly because they are harder to steal. Kovu used to carry a switchblade in the pocket of his jacket, but has traded it for a dracon beam after joining up with the Animorphs.

Before joining the animorphs, Kovu had never been very social. His years on the street made him cold and apathetic. He never considered other peoples emotions, which made him seem rather selfish. As a loner, he often stays by himself at large gatherings. It used very hard to get through to him, as he was always anxious of what others were doing. It was almost impossible for him to trust, as a thief, trust is rare, and almost never beneficial. Even though he seems cold, he takes orders very well. He only gets upset when you either threaten him or insult him personally. Although very unsocial, if you can manage to befriend him, he is a loyal ally.
After joining the animorphs, his mood shifted very slowly, mostly thanks to Aubrey and Jullian, who helped him learn how to trust, and broke down his apathetic barrier. Now a days, even though he doesn't usually approach strangers, he has learned to be more trusting, and has developed close friendships with a few people. During missions, his whole persona changes, he become very goal-oriented, courageous, and willing to do anything to protect his teammates, all personal biases fall away at this point, and almost nothing can stop him.
Bio/History:
Kovu's parents were taken in the early days of the invasion, when he was 10 years old. His parents left one night to go to a sudden meeting, turned out the Yeerks were looking to expand control to their children, it was an elaborate plan to help them gain more controllers. The yeerks came to his house looking to gain control of him and his sister, Julia. He was watching TV really late when he saw headlights out of the window, he rushed to the window to see his parents, but he only saw Hork-Bajir. He rushed to Julia's room and shook her awake, they rushed to the back door just as the Hork-Bajir broke their front door in.
He rushed through the back door, but his sister was snagged from behind. Crying, he ran from the house unsure of where he would go. After a few days, he turned to thievery, he pickpockets money from peoples pockets in order to eat, and buy new clothes. He developed quite a skill for thievery, hi-jacking cars and picking locks, he easily made a life for the next 6 years. By that time, the world was mostly controller, and as he was pickpocketing one of them, an animorph saw him, and, knowing he wasn't a controller, recruited him into the LA faction
After joining up with the LA animorphs, he became close to Aubrey and Jullian. He also found his sister, and managed to free her. After a close moment between some Yeerks, Aubrey, and Aubrey's mom, Aubrey left the LA faction. Kovu was crushed, but took comfort in the fact that Jullian was still there. They grew closer, and, when Jullian decided to leave LA for Boston, Kovu quickly decided that he, too, would go.
