I know that this is well-worn ground, but I still think the morph pool levels have some tweaking that need to be done to them. These are the posting levels so far:
Posting Levels 0: Trainee- None 10: Recruit- The three you chose when signing up 25: Animorph- Yellow Morph 75: Animorph First Class- Green Morph 125: Ensign- Green Morph 200: Ensign First Class- Yellow Morph 275: Lieutenant- Blue Morph 350: Lieutenant First Class- Green Morph 425: Captain- Blue Morph 500: Captain First Class- Green Morph 600: Special Forces- Red Morph 750: Special Forces First Class: Blue Morph 900: Elite Sea-Space-Air-Land Special Forces (Elite): Red Morph
I think the Red Morphs are still way too high on the post count. I don't really see the reasoning behind delaying a good battle morph for so long, IC or OOC. I understand that having to "work towards" it could make people stick around a little bit longer, but I think the numbers we have make the wait way too long. So we may want to rethink the morphing levels, at least around the higher end of the spectrum. Perhaps change the red morph down to 400-500 level. It seems to me that after someone hits around 400-500 posts, they intend to stick around at least for awhile.
What are everyone else's thoughts?

I don't think it needs to be changed. At least not yet. Honestly, we haven't had anyone go through this leveling system yet so we don't know what it's problems may be. A lot of us came from AA where we knew the wait between morphs was too long but no one has really come up through AE's leveling system yet.
I'm bringing up two characters through it right now and I am perfectly satisfied with the wait between morphs right now. It's long enough that I build some anticipation and excitement without being so long that I feel it's going to take me forever.
Also, there is a difference between a fighting morph and a red morph. All of the morphs on the blue list are capable of getting into a fight. The only real difference between a red and a blue is pure firepower. Maybe Jake could take more hits and keep fighting as a tiger but Cassie did just fine with a wolf throughout the series. So our characters are actually ready to get into fights at 275 posts.
Plus, having to go through blue levels before reds and there being a gap there makes smarter players choose diverse fighting morphs. If you know you're getting a big cat at red you don't get a medium cat at blue. With my first character I got a clouded leopard at blue even though I knew I was getting a jaguar at red because it was going to take me so long to get to red that I needed it. And once I got the jaguar never used the clouded leopard :/ But our system doesn't have such a huge space between the blues and reds. So if you plan on getting a big cat or something, maybe you get a buffalo or bull at blue, something that fights completely differently so you don't have overlap. And that's not something people may think to do without the gap. But it's something people feel they can do with a gap that's not huge.
