I. Overview
Hi folks. It looks like the Academy is wrapping up for this first round of recruits: Adrian, Alain, Dustin, Richard, and Simplicity. Also, big things are going down in the canon, as two new factions are about to spring up. These will include Rio de Janerio (Drake), and Miami (Suji). Cape Town will cease to be an active faction, and New York City will remain a faction of NPCs.
To celebrate/mark the event, there will be a big send off. The very beginnings of it are played out here, but in short, a very large pool is being constructed for training purposes. Of course an opportunity like that can't be wasted, and thus, pool party.
The loose concept at the moment is to have the pool party set after the Faction Leader Meeting with Cassie. For those of you who may be hearing about this meeting for the first time: recruits will not be a part of it. It's where Drake and Suji will be promoted to Faction Leader, and assigned their respective cities.
Shortly thereafter, Seiya will be assigning recruits to one of these two cities. IC, recruits will be placed where it is believed they will have the best fit. OOC, you will get to choose. An important thing to note here, though, is that we are striving to keep the factions as balanced as possible when it comes to number of Animorphs/activity levels. Just keep that in mind.
II. Factions
When we have the go ahead from Dean, Faction Claims will reopen. There you will formally claim your faction. Until then, if you could post and give us an idea of what city you think your recruit will go to, please post below. I'm going to keep a rough draft list running in this thread.

III. Pool Party
The pool is going to be added as a feature of the Combat Training subboard. There will probably be a "main" thread for the pool party, as well as spin-offs. To create a thread that is part of the party but not a part of the main thread, just tag it in the title with [Party]. This will allow people to move around without being totally confined to one giant thread.
That said, please try to keep these threads fairly well separated by topic/theme/area - having them overlap will defeat the purpose and cause a lot of confusion. People generally shouldn't be posting in two threads at once with the same character during the pool party (and as the queen of staggered timelines, I hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot here).
Quick Note
Nothing in this should be taken as 100% final. However, this is the collected deliberation of the staff over a length of time. Dean very much has final say in any of this, but I thought an outline bringing together a lot of our talking points would make this a smoother process.
