Alain, as played by Jared Paladecki
- Male, 22-25 Years Old
- Part-time Physicist
- Beer Brewer
- Ex-Controller
I had a lot of fun writing Alain here. I thought he'd make a cool player-character if anyone was interested. His personality is generally pretty reserved, though he'll joke around with people he knows well. He doesn't tend to hide his emotions, but he will (and does) keep secrets and hold back information.
Mostly, Alain has a lot of self-loathing going on. He was a willing Controller at the beginning of the war (you can think of a reason, or talk to me if you need ideas), but quickly became disillusioned. It culminated when (spoilers for "Where There's Life") the Yeerk controlling him designed the bomb that destroyed Dallas.
Though Alain would hardly strike someone as a wrathful person, he has an almost insatiable hatred for the Yeerks. He doesn't believe in "good" Yeerks or the Peace Movement -- or rather, he doesn't care. There is no part of him that can even begin to imagine a peaceful co-existence between the two races.
Ultimately, I see him seeking out Cassie and asking her to make him an Animorph. He wouldn't be a leader (at least at first), but he's resourceful. He's not one to directly challenge leadership (unless it could cost someone their life), but he will brood and can get passive aggressive.
If the name is a major turn off, let me know what you'd want it changed to. I'll probably be fine with it, I just need to update my thread.
Also, if no one picks him up, I might play him down the line, when some more factions open up.
He's very Tobias with a little Marco.
