It all sounds good, but considering this is a major plot point for the site I'd like you to hold off on playing it out until things get sorted out for the site. Both IC and OCC wise. We still don't know what the verdict on the academy is going to be, and that is were I want things to stem out from if we keep it. So keep up the good work on plotting, its what we need right now, but hold off in any major story-lines for the time being When reading the question below, keep in mind that it is a serious question that I don't know the answer to. Is there really an advantage to waiting? I ask because, in my experience on other sites, when a thread or idea is put on hold, that is usually where it stays. It is difficult to keep interest after a long wait. Also, even if the Academy doesn't stay around as a mandatory place to RP, it will still stay around as a location, right? It is already a part of the site's history unless we retcon it out. So the decision of wether or not to keep the academy shouldn't affect the thread much. I can understand wanting to wait until the site officially reopens before starting any major plot threads, but I don't necessarily agree with it. Waiting sounds like a good idea, but what will it actually accomplish? And is it worth the wait? |

I think this is pretty true overall, and the idea of waiting another few weeks to be able to post in a thread I thought we were going to be able to play in kind of sucks. I'm not unwilling to do it, but I don't know that I see the point. I understand waiting in some circumstances, but I don't think this site will ever start "fresh," if that's what the benefit of waiting is. I also get that it could develop into a major plot point, but that's not so much what this mission is about. This mission is really just to set the stage for that possible future plot, and to put the idea of an orbiting Kandrona on the table (and, honestly, to give me and Aubrey a place to post in the meantime). I know you're going to want to make it something bigger, Dean, but I don't think that would be in conflict with the mission we're plotting out now. I also don't know why it would be in conflict with stuff happening at the Academy... we can always move this thread around in the timeline, until it coincides/happens just before anything big going down in the Academy (or not). If we'd like to fast-track the Academy discussion/decision, I'd love to set up a time for us all to get on AIM and have a group chat. |

The post me and Suji are doing shouldn't affect the major, over-arching plotline or the Academy. It's just meant to be a fun little mission that also serves as kind of a reintroduction of Aubrey & Suji back into the site. There isn't going to be any major plotwork going on--just some possible setting up for the plotline later down the road like Suji said. I'm not sure it's such a big deal that it needs to be stopped? Unless you really think so? EDIT: Also, if we're going to set up an AIM convo sometime, I'm usually good for around nighttime. |

Before I stick my foot completely in my mouth, what exactly is the plan for your mission? The way I understood it, you were going to intercept a portable kandrona? I thought what we had planned was for that to be in the near future. Unless I misunderstood something.

They'd just be intercepting the plans for one, it's not actually been built yet. This would be prototype plans, basically. That was the idea, so that they could maybe think it won't come up again (but then it does for the main plot).
