Name: Richard Smith
Age: 19
Birthday 05/11
Gender: Male
Hometown: Miami, Florida
Face Claim: Sean Faris
Nationality: Caucasian-American
Languages Spoken: English
Description: Richard is about 5' 10" with medium build for someone his age. He has short black hair with black eyes. His skin is sort of tanned, but not to the point of it being weird looking. He usually wears a t-shirt, jeans or shorts (depending on whether he is practicing or not), and black sneakers. Richard looks like he is full of energy regardless of whether or not he is tired.
Skills:
* Cooking: Richard can make a delicious meal out of a limited supply of food. It may not look good, but it will taste like mana.
* Photographic Memory: Richard can remember everything about a room within a few minutes of scanning it.
* Mixed Martial Arts: Richard has some skills in this area which is how he stays out of the hospital bed. It has become one of his favorite things to do to relieve stress.
Personality: Richard is the type of person who everyone thinks is the reckless jock. He always seems to rush into things without a plan, but Richard always tries to think about something before doing it. He doesn't think about it long as he believes that just wastes time. There are times that he will agree that he should take it slow and try not to ruin a plan by jumping the gun.
Richard is not one of the smartest people on the planet, but he knows enough to get by. When it comes to coming up with ideas on how to solve a problem, Richard will keep his mouth shut to avoid embarrassing himself. What he lacks in brains, he makes up for in how he treats others. He will always stand up for the little guy in a situation and does not back down from any bully. This also gets him in trouble in certain situations, so he is trying to learn to bite his tongue.
Bio/History: Richard is the third son of middle class Americans, which led to his decision of learning how to fight in order to ward of his older siblings. His parents worked early hours as they were both doctors, so Richard and his brothers were left to cooking and cleaning the house. This arrangement suited Richard just fine as he knew to make quick meals. This also allowed him to do pretty much whatever he wanted to do so long as it did not involve breaking the law, which is what his older brothers did on occasion.
He went through most of school as an average student that stayed away from sports. Richard joined a gym the specialized in mixed martial arts, which was his favorite thing as it gave him an excuse to get out of the house. He spent most of his teenage years staying off the radar of mostly everyone in his school, which is probably why he was able to stay normal when the Yeerks first started to infest the school.
Eventually, Richard was talking to one of his closest friends when he noticed that his friend seemed to be acting a little more normal than he usually did. Richard asked him if he was okay, and his friend said that he was fine. There was a feeling in the back of Richard's head telling him that something strange was going on. After school, Richard went home to find that his parents were there waiting for him. They were talking with his older brothers about visiting this new clinic that his parents were starting down the block to show of their new project. When they arrived at the clinic, a group of men tried to take Richard and his brothers into the back room for some reason. Richard elbowed the guy who was trying to carry him, and then he bolted out the door.
For the next couple of weeks, Richard tried to keep a low profile by avoiding places he knew, but eventually he was caught trying to steal some food from a grocery store. A group of men showed up to take him away, but just as they were about to grab him the lights went out. Richard decided that God was granting him a favor, so he ran out through the back door of the store. He decided that he was going to have to do something if he was going to have a normal life.
Starting Morphs:
Land: Alaskan Klee Kai (House Dog)
Bug: Cockroach
Other: Magpie
Scene with Parent:
Richard was sitting at the dinner table with his family. It was one of the few times they were all in the same room for more than a few minutes. His older brother was talking about something, but Richard was not really paying attention. His mind usually wander when it came to his brothers' ideas of a good conversation. His mind was on his last practice bout during his mixed martial arts lesson, which had been one of his best yet.
Richard was brought into the conversation when his mom started talking to him. "So Richard, what was your day like?" His mom always asked him that, and he usually would just reply that it was the same as every other day. Richard decided to change it up a little. "Well school was boring, but I did have a very good day at my MMA practice. I think I finally mastered the three punch combo followed by a round-house kick. The other guy was down in almost seconds." He was smiling as he said it, but the look on both his parents face told him that he probably should have kept that to himself.
"I don't understand what you see in that barbaric sort of behavior," his dad said, "When I was young, I was involved in normal activities like basketball, but all kids want to join these fighting classes so they can be each other up. It just makes no sense." Richard decided to just drop the subject as it would only lead to a dull speech about how he should try to go out for an actual team.
The meal ended shortly after the conversation did. Richard climbed the stairs up to his room and wondered why he even bothered to share things with his parents if his dad was going to just say bad things about them. "I can't wait until I am on my own. Then I won't have these kind of problems."
