What had Jullian said about morphing? It was just concentrate on the animal, wasn't it? Yeah, that seems right. Liz took a deep breathe as she checked once more that the cargo bay of the ship was empty of human presence. She wasn't sure that it was okay to morph outside of class so she preferred to not be seen.
Liz blew out and bent over, supporting herself on her hands and feet. Last time she had morphed in class, she had fallen forwards in the process. This time she was prepared. She closed her eyes for good measure, something she didn't do last time. She had seen people's expressions and was pretty disgusted at watching a morph so she didn't want to see herself.
As she thought about the graceful gazelle that Jullian claimed was apart of her DNA now, her arms began to itch. She shifted her weight to one hand and scratched an arm. She gasped as she felt fur growing there. Then a smile appeared and Liz kept thinking about the gazelle. She was morphing it!
Within minutes, Liz was clopping around in a semi-circle in the back of the cargo bay.

It was easy for Stevie to amuse herself recently. After all, the obstacle course made an excellent substitute for a gym. The balance and the low wooden poles substituted easily for the beam, although the first was admittedly a little high and the other was way too low. The hanging bar worked well enough for her flips. There was enough space to floor work. All they're missing was a vault and I'll be training for worlds in no time. Internally, she rolled her eyes at her subconscious's lame attempt at a joke. Stevie doubted that worlds had happened in a long time now.
After that set of thoughts, Stevie quickly lost interest in the beams and bars. Her heart just wasn't in it anymore. It was times like these where why wondered where she bothered training a talent that was absolutely useless against the yeerks. Then again, perhaps there was just a tiny naive part of her that thought maybe someday, when this war was over, there would once again be time for trivial things like gymnastics competitions.
Now slightly downtrodden, Stevie headed toward the cargo bay. She would have headed back to her room, but Xander's was right across the hall and she wasn't in a 'dealing with people' kind of mood. It wasn't until she was already in the cargo bay that she heard the clack of hoofs, otherwise she might have avoided it too. Her brain did a quick scan of people with gazelle morphs. Most likely candidate was... "Hello, Liz," she guessed, putting a smile on that stemmed purely from having another female RECRUIT on the ship.

The gazelle hadn't heard the cargo bay doors slide open, but it sure heard the greeting. Before the entire phrase could echo across the room, the gazelle froze. then came the "Liz" and Elizabeth recognized the voice. It was Stevie, the other female candidate. THe gazelle loosened up and leaped over a crate-- with a grace that amazed Liz-- and trotted over to an entrance.
It was there she saw Stevie. <<Hi Stevie.>> She said. She normally wouldn't have said anything and wave isntead, but the gazelle didn't exactly have hands. And bowing would look more like a threat than anything. Imagine having two sharp spikes pointing straight at you. Liz, true to her nature, didn't say anything else. She was wondering why Stevie was there, but she wasn't going to say anything. Not when a simple cocking of the head would do.
Was the older girl there out of boredom? Liz didn't think many classes were going on right now. Maybe she wanted company? But there were many better people to strike up a conversation with than her. Or she might've just been wandering the halls for no reason whatsoever. Whetever the cause, Liz was waiting patiently to hear it.
