So what do you guys think we should do about the leveling system after 900 posts?

Tack on a couple purple levels that let you choose from anywhere in the morph pool?

Along with Drake's idea, maybe every X amount of posts (say 500?) after 900, they get to pick a morph from anywhere in the morph pool.

Honestly, I think once you hit your Red levels, it should be easier to get new morphs, not harder. If the idea is everyone gets a relatively limited morph list so that they become very good with those morphs, by the time you hit about 1000 posts you're pretty much a peak-level morpher.
I do like having to specialize (rather than, say, everyone being able to have everything), but by the time you hit Red level it's obvious that you're not playing just because you what to show off as a tiger or bear or something. Theoretically these are people that are so elite that they're trusted with the most powerful morphs available. Plus, the fact that people tend to pick up all the morphs they'll already like anyway kind of adds to this. If you've got a powerful battle morph, it's not like you're gonna get ten more -- and even if you do, it's not really that overpowered seeing as you 1. sort of earned it, and 2. can't be more than one at once, anyway.
So I guess I'm saying it might be interesting if the morph pool were just open to you at that point. Generally speaking the people with the most posts are going to be either faction leaders or very influential, trusted soldiers -- the type that faction leaders wouldn't mind tossing a morph every now and again for situational combat.
If we're Special Forces after all, that can solve a little of the Mission Morph dilemma that used to be on AA. Need a mole? Some other highly specific morph? Dump it on the Special Forces folks. Then no one has to worry about having a morph they can never use again, or blowing a morph slot on picking it up if it's something they otherwise wouldn't want. Of course that might limit some factions (anyone without someone in the Red levels) but I think most factions are gonna have people that are relatively close, and even if they don't, part of the perks of being Special Forces was also supposed to be some mobility.
Anyway, that's all very rough -- I'm not sure if I'm totally great with the idea of making Special Forces people that critical to missions, though I guess that depends on how emphasized it is (digging as a mole wouldn't be all that glamorous, for example) -- but the overall idea is: past Red level (which is seen as the most vicious, powerful morphs available) there's no reason to really make anyone follow the leveling system any more. You hit the level cap.

I like Suji's idea, but I think we need to put a specific number on it, say 1,500
I also think at this time, that maybe people should have access to one alien morph, but I would say only one. That way we keep the amout of alien distribution to a minimum, yet allow dedicated members to have one of these rare morphs. Kind of like a purple morph as Drake said.
IC, it would make sense, the more trusted members would have alot of normal morphs yet would still be limited on access to the rarest morphs such as aliens

Availability of alien morphs is actually a discussion all its own and the next item on the agenda so stay tuned. Right now Taxxons, Hork-Bajir and Andalites are available to red level posters. So they would have to be removed from the morph list and put into a special Purple morph list or something if they were going to be offlimits.

Proposal:
After the Red level (600-900 posts) there will be a Purple level starting at 1050 posts. At each level you will have complete access to the morphs from the previous levels. You will be able to acquire a new morph from that level with a two week waiting period before you can acquire a new one. Other than that you can gain as many morphs as you desire.
Levels are as follows:
1050: access to white level morphs 1250: green morphs 1500: blue morphs 1750: red morphs

Don't know if we're still supposed to comment, but...
1750 for another Red Morph means that you basically have to go through the whole leveling process again and then some (850 posts from 900) between getting Red Morphs. =\ I kind of like the idea, but that really bites. Sure you'll have a bunch of options opened up in the mean time, but as someone with one of the leading post counts on the site, even I'm kind of nauseated by that thought.

Yeah. You're still supposed to be posting. The way the forum basically works is that we'll open a thread to discuss an issue if we have no idea how we want to handle it (we being the moderators) as in the case of the leveling system or we'll open a thread with our proposal about how to fix a problem or make an improvement to the site.
We post it here to get everyone's feedback about it so that we can make adjustments to it or, if there are no reasonable adjustments that can be made without compromising the basic idea of the proposal, it goes to a vote. Once adjustments are made its posted again until it seems that there are no other adjustments that can be made (so far that hasn't been necessary). Then it goes to vote.
About your point. That's true. Didn't think of it that way. Any solutions?

Lump them all together (purple level, silver level, gold level, whatever you want to call it) and put it at like 1100 or 1200. that's still 200-300 posts away from Red level so you have time to salivate over it, but not so far away that you're dying. Or:
Silver Level ~1100 - Opens up all White & Green
Gold Level ~1300 - Opens up all Blue & Red

New levels:
1000: access to white level morphs 1100: green morphs 1200: blue morphs 1300: red morphs

Both Suji's and gage's level's wurk for me, I think however it would be better to spread em out like gage's rather than lump em together
