~Created by Ember
What are the SITE RULES? [Always read this First!]
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general
Where can I get to know people? Who are the other Characters Onsite?
To find out about the people and the characters they control onsite, visit this often updated and well taken care of Member List. Click on the picture and get the Character's Profile, Click on the name and get Member's Profile. See the main Character of the member, as well as all the other Characters and NPCs they play with a helpful picture display.
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=12
How can I Introduce Myself?
To introduce yourself OOC go to this section and create a "Hello This is Me" Thread:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=real
You can also use that Link to let people know if you'll be leaving the site for awhile, or find out why someone has been absent in RP.
How do I change my screen name to my Character Name?
If you join the site under a character name, you might notice that it is not capitalized. Or if you joined under a screen name, you might wonder how everbody got their title to show up as their Character's name.
This is simply that, once you register, you have to go back into your profile by clicking the tab at the top of the screen. Then click "Modify Profile" and scroll down to Display Name. Fill out that blank with your character's name (usually just the first name) and it will appear that way to everyone else onsite. Your screen name will still be used to send Personal Messages to.
Where do I create a Character?
To submit a character application for an Animorph simply follow the instructions found in this thread:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=profiles&thread=13
Or for a Controller:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=14
And then place the application in the "Pending" section. Check back every so often to see if a Mod has approved you and continue on with a Face Claim and Faction Claim, or if they have disapproved, simply correct the problems they bring to light and re-submit within the same thread.
To get an Idea of what the Mods are looking for, read some of the other approved profiles and get to know your fellow characters at the same time.
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=approvedprofiles
What is a Face Claim? What are some Good Ideas for a Face Claim?
A face claim is a person, usually a celebrity or well known personage, whom you use to represent your character. You cannot use a face claim that has already been taken. To find out which ones are already in use, and to submit your own, follow this link:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=factions&action=display&thread=6
Good face claims are usually well known actors or models since they have a wide variety of photographs available online that you can use later for Avatars and Signatures. However it is best to choose someone you think best represents who you want your character to be, either in looks, or real life personality, even for the voice you might have in mind. And it also helps if it is someone you admire, and not regret choosing later when your character develops. But ultimately it is your own choice.
How do I add a Avi/Signature?
If you have an avatar (picture of your faceclaim) or signature you want to display, go to Modify Profile again and find the personal information section. There you can enter in an Avatar URL.
DO NOT HOTLINK
Please use your own images saved to a photo account such as Imageshack.us or Photobucket.com
To place a signature go to that space and place the image's URL in tags
While you are there, write in all your morphs and the other characters you play onsite so others can tell right away what your capabilities are, and help lessen confusion.
How can I Randomize my Signature?
You might have notices onsite that several members have signatures and avis that change each time you refresh the page. To get this cool function for yourself, if you've got more than one sig you want to show off, just follow this link:
www.random-image.net/?
Where can I Commission a Signature?
Luckily for you, we have several good artists onsite who are more than willing to create beautiful signatures to your specifications for absolutely no cost (except of course your written thanks) Look through their art threads and choose one you'd like to commission a sig from and follow their individual instructions. Please be patient also, sometimes they have a lot of work and cannot get to you right away.

Also check out the Art Galleries if you want to commission something for off site

What is a Faction, and how do I sign up for one?
A faction is a group of usually eight or less RPGers that live in a City. They are the guardians of that city, and each faction holds its own adventures, although occasionally there are inter-faction missions or meetings.
Each faction has ONE leader. That leader chooses a Second in Command, or sometimes multiple Seconds if there is more than one applicable member. Usually a Second later becomes a faction leader when there is a call for one because they have the most experience.
To sign up under a Faction (after reading about them, links provided below) you follow this link, and read the instructions. This will tell you how many open factions there are, and which Characters reside in each city.
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=factions&action=display&thread=1
How can I find out more about the Factions? Faction Leaders?
Good question! To join a faction you can either throw a dart (warning: bad for your computer) OR you can read about the Faction's Missions and get a good idea of what each Faction is about before submitting your application to join up. Of course if a faction is not right for you, there is an option for transfer also. But rather than go through that hassle you can follow the links below to get a rough idea of each faction:
How can I become a Faction Leader?
Once you've got your legs under you and feel you are ready to lead a faction of your own, if there is an opening at the time, you may submit a Leader Application here:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=factions&action=display&thread=9
How many Morphs do I get to start out? What are the levels after that?
You get 3 morphs to start out, which you ask for when you create your character. Please reference the morph pool for available morphs, save the staff some time. Because White (Yellow) morphs get used up quickly, there is more leniency for doubling up (more than one person on site having the same morph).
Where is the Morph List?
This one can be confusing because there seem to be several lists onsite. Here is a guide to what each one's purpose is for and the link to guide you there.
Taken and Available morphs is not the full list! It is a guide to help you know how many of each type of animal have already been claimed. Morphs like "House Cat" can have a variety of options, and here you can see what other people have already taken. Variety is key to choosing morphs for your character, as you will use them in conjunction with your faction-mates.
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=15
The Morph Pool Guide is an infrequently updated list of all the morphs possible. It includes links to wikipedia articles and pictures of what morphs look like. It seperates by level as well as Land, Water, Air, and Bug. This is a very good resource to reference when choosing a morph at each level.
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=16&page=1
The Morph Pool is the basic guide in list format, it has which morphs have been taken and cannot be doubled on, as well as a quick catch-up on general things to know about morphing.
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=2
Where do I Get a New Morph?
Once you've advanced a level you may pick out a new morph and submit it in the Promotions board, here:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=promotions
How do I claim a Morph for later? (non-binding)
If you really want a morph but are afriad someone else might level faster, you can send out a claim to let people know you are interested in this morph and hopefully preserve it for yourself later. However this is non-binding and if someone takes it before you there is a chance you can double up if it is lower level, or if you can find something similiar you can submit it to be added and claim it at that time.
You can also look here to see what other people have already claimed and plan accordingly:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=promotions&action=display&thread=17
What if the Animal I want isn't on the List?
If you find an animal that hasn't been added yet but you'd really like it to be on the list, follow this link and the instructions to submit your idea:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=suggestions&thread=18
Where can I share Something Awesome that happened in RPG?
If you have something in-game that you think is funny, clever, unique, or notable, quote it here:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=oocboard&thread=19
If you have a scene which is too big to quote, but you want to recommend to others to read, post the details here:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=oocboard&thread=20
Where can I post a Mission Idea?
If you want to brainstorm missions, adventures, or let your faction in on a plan, you can go to mission brainstorming and post a thread. Or you can also look up your faction's thread and read up on ideas that are floating around. This is also where inter-faction ideas, and future mission brainstorming happens. You can post back anything helpful you can think of, or ask for help from others.
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=brainstorming
What if I need to Create an NPC? Control a basic NPC? Learn about the Important NPCs?
If you want to find out about NPCs, where they are located, who can play them, and to create one of your own, just follow this link and the instructions that follow:
animorphsexpansion.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=21&page=1
Also, don't forget to Face Claim your NPCs! (see Face Claim help above)

EXTRA Questions:
What if my Animorph gets Pregnant?
For the first couple of months the fetus is enough a part of your own body that it would morph with you. However after the third or forth month or so your child has enough of a body of that they can no longer be included in the morphing process. An explanation for this is that the child cannot morph since it has new DNA which has not been affected by the Andalite Cube, therefore it would be treated as something separate from your body and not be included in the reforming of the animorph's body.
Can I morph a Pregnant Animal and thus the Baby too?
Er, no. Probably because of what I said up there ^ but I'm not a bio major, or an alien technology expert, so really I can't say. Let's just go with no, and avoid any possible situation where we'd have to test it.
What happens to the food my Morph eats?
This one is tough to call. Because wounds and diseases don't stay with you from your morph it would seem that nothing that happens to you in morph gets carried over. Including eating. Your morph might get hungry and eat something during the two hours, but it doesn't carry over to your human self.
But that would assume the opposite as well, which means whatever you eat in human form doesn't carry to your morph.
Do Morphs age with my Character?
Another tough one, not really answered by the series. My assumption is that, yes morphs grow with the host. Like a cloned animal it starts at what age it was when you acquired it, and then grows from there.
However this raises the question of, what if you get a very old animal or person on the verge of death? Well, obviously you'd want to be careful not to die in-morph, but could you still morph your animal after it's DNA has declared it dead? Would the morph power work if the DNA was dead? Would you die if you tried to morph into the now-dead animal? Like age-dead, not road-kill dead because oddly enough that would be possible if the blood were fresh enough. Or, could you morph a very young human, become a nothlit and live a second life after your own DNA has expired?
All good questions. And, I have no idea.
If a case like one of those comes up, I'm assuming you'd have to first discuss it with a site Mod who would make the final decision. Until then, I'd love to hear any other possibilities you might have!
Is there anything Morphing Can't Heal?
Yes. There have been known to be certain diseases that are not curable by morphing. Sometimes it is in the form of cancer, or an alien virus specifically created to be insusceptible to morphing. Also, it may be possible to have too much of your body destroyed to be able to regenerate it, but usually death comes before you can even try to morph, so that stands untested. If someone tries it, please please please PM the results.
Drugs???
Another updated gem: What happens to your Animorph if they get all drugged up on some substance like Alcohol, or if they smoke or something? Does it go away when they morph? Does their morph get drugged too? What happens if you morph something small and it dies of overdose? Or, since that's unlikely, does you body retain it's druggedness when you demorph?
If you get drunk as a human and then morph when you demorph you will be sober. The same is true of drugs. Why? Well because the morphing technology recreates your body with all of its basic levels of substances. Basically the technology takes a scan of what your body is supposed to be like when you first acquire the morphing power and then recreates it each time.
What is a Dracon Beam Exactly?
I put this in here because a lot of people in the star wars/trek fandom seem to believe dracon beams are lasers. This is not true, they are far more bad ass:
Dracon beams – Hand-held or cannon weapons that emit a painful red beam of energy. Powered by energy cells, Dracon beams have ten settings, the most powerful of which can punch a hole straight through ten feet of solid titanium. They are modified from Andalite shredders by combining them with Ongachic particle technology to make it more painful.
That last bit there, with the "Ongack" something, basically translates to - It tears molecules apart. APART! And yes, with something that so closely resembles nuclear power, or the SUN, it creates a lot of heat and energy. The energy is the light, usually red which makes it seem lazer-esque. And the heat is what sometimes cauterizes the wound, and also why you wouldn't want to use it in an enclosed space as it would kill you. Probably slowly and painfully.
What is a Kadrona Pool Exactly?
The basic of yeerk survival is that it must bathe in the light from it's sun, called Kadrona:
Kandrona – The name of the sun of the Yeerk homeworld. Yeerks must bask in its light every three days in order to obtain essential nutrients, much like the human ability to synthesize [[Vitamin D2]] by solar radiation. When away from their homeworld, the Yeerks utilize a Kandrona Particle Generator, which simulates the rays of their home sun, to replenish themselves. Kandrona devices can have many different sizes in order to serve one or more Yeerk pools with different capacities.
However there are other ways for a yeerk to get kadrona:
Kandrona Particle Generators, Emergency – A one-use, small Yeerk pool made for emergencies. These are designed to make it more or less easy for the Yeerks to carry around with them. They are usually used by Yeerks on the run.
And there is also Oatmeal: which keeps the yeerk from needing kadrona rays at all, but drives them crazy. This makes it almost impossible for the yeerk to ever leave the host once this happens.
How do Yeerks reproduce? Or, can Slugs have Genders?
Yeerks reproduce through fusion. Three parent Yeerks merge into a single organism, which then breaks apart into hundreds of separate grubs, destroying the parents in the process.
Now these yeerks usually live in a kadrona pool until they are assigned a host, usually a lower level creature like a Taxxon to start. But when they start getting into humans, they can take on their host's gender, explaining the he/she pronouns even though yeerks themselves have no gender. The yeerk can even keep the first gender pronoun after moving to a host of a different gender if they have come to think of themselves that way.
What is a Yeerk Name?
A yeerk name consists of a name, and a number. The name can be anything (named after a combination of the yeerk parent's names), but the number signifies the number in which they emerged from the tri-parent. So Varnak300 is the 300th yeerk to be born from his yeerk tri-parent. Usually this number stays in the 3-digit range.
In the case of twins there occurs a double number. The first, the Primary, is considered superior to the Secondary.
[edit] Actually, in the case of yeerk twins they get four numbers in their name with the last number being repeated. 300 isn't the best example. Like if their number was 739 then as a twin it would be 7399 prime and 7399 secondary.
Yeerks keep these names even when they are promoted to higher levels. Such as a human being called General even though his real name is Billy Bob.
What are Yeerk Empire levels?
In the Yeerk military, each of them is ranked one after the other, and are referred to by title and number. Sub-Visser 40 beats Sub-Visser 42. And Sub-Visser 3 outranks everbody but 2 and 1. (btw this is by site rules, not official animorph book rules, see below)
There are many Sub-Vissers of various rank, but there are only 47 Vissers. Vissers are equivilant to Five-star Generals or Andalite Princes.
[edit] In the books there are only Sub-Vissers up to 100. The first 47 ranks are Vissers and then 48-100 are Sub-Vissers. But we are saying there are Sub-Visser ranks ranging from 1-100 because of the need to expand their empire.
Yeerks can hold other various ranks but they were never formalized in the books. For instance the blue band Hork-Bajir are an elite Hork-Bajir fighting unit. They also had a captain of that unit. There were yeerks in charge of ports and yeerks in charge of ship yards, pilots. Stuff like that. But the full system was never described by K.A. Applegate. I would base it on human military rankings if there is ever a question.
The very highest leader is the Yeerk Emperor and the head of the Council of Thirteen. His/Her/Its identity is never known by anyone outside the Council. And two of the Council remain concealed, for unknown reasons.
In lowest rank a yeerk does not even earn a denomination but remains referred to by his or her name and number. Sorry Varnak300.
Why the hell does Oatmeal Drive Yeerks Crazy?
Only Instant Ginger and Maple Oatmeal will drive a yeerk crazy. And it does so by replacing the yeerk equivalent of a brain stem. Apparently this organ is also what needs Kadrona rays which is why they don't need kadrona anymore.
So basically yeerks on oatmeal literally have mush for brains.
Good Threads vs. "Bad" Threads?
Good threads are encouraged because they usually involve one of three things: Plot development, Character development, or a Mission.
A "Bad" thread isn't against the rules per se, but usually it's just idle chatter or "training" that allows a member to get away with post boosting. Creating threads to recieve morphs is also non-relevent after your first two. And a party thread for no reason is also a quick way to do nothing.
Where can I Buff Up on the Animorphs?
If you want to read back over your favorite tales but can't find the books, or afford to go out and buy the whole series, you can find them all online at this website: (http://www.wattpad.com/?mode=3&search=animorphs&duration=7&lim=&page=0)
Where can I Submit a Question for the FAQ?
To submit a question you think I missed, or a different/better answer to one of the questions here, all you need do is PM me and I'll update as soon as possible!
Hope this makes life easier for everyone, I tried to get the questions ordered in which would be needed first for new comers, but this is also for vets who might still have unanswered questions about Animorphs and the Site.
