So when I am trying to decide what morphs I want to get or trying to figure out what the morphs I have can do I normally end up going off site to find info. Figured I'd create this so that you can stay on site to do your research. If you really want a lot of details you can do some of your own research but this should be a good place to start. The morphs with green labels are on the official morph list. The other morphs were suggested and might get approved in the future. Each section has a date next to the title as to when it was last updated but this list gets updated less frequently than the morph pool so the morph pool should be referred to for up to date information.LEVEL YELLOW LAND MORPHS Updated 09/09/10 CAMEL Mammal. Height: 1.7-2 meters. Weight: 360-600 kg. Body Length: appx 38cm (15cm). Tail length: 13cm (5in). Weight: appx. 1kg (2-4lbs). Crepuscular. When free to roam they seek to their abundant curiosity. Ferrets are energetic, curious, interested in their surroundings, and often actively solicit play with humans. Play for a ferret will often involve hide-and-seek games, or some form of predator/prey game in which either they are trying to catch or running away from someone. They also have a strong nesting instinct and will repeatedly carry small objects to hidden locations. Ferrets will seemingly form attachments to certain objects and will repeatedly 'steal' the same object and bring it to their hiding place. Ferrets are interested in holes, pipes and other small enclosed areas, and seem compelled to explore holes. Ferrets can typically fit through any hole as small as the size of their head. Ferrets are fearless to the point of foolishness and should not be allowed to wander. Like most pet animals they come in a variety of colors. Tail length: 20-25cm (8-10in). Porcupines are rodents with a coat of sharp spines, or quills, that defend them from predators. The quills are modified hairs coated with thick plates of keratin, and they are embedded in the skin musculature. Porcupine quills are as sharp as needles, detach very easily, and will remain embedded in an attacker. Unlike needles, however, the quills of New World porcupines have microscopic, backwards-facing barbs on the tip that catch on the skin making them difficult and painful to extract, though they must be removed. Quills are about 75 millimetres (3.0 in) long and 2 millimetres (0.079 in) wide. If a quill becomes lodged in the tissues of a would-be attacker, the barbs act to pull the quill further into the tissues with the normal muscle movements of the attacker, moving up to several millimeters in a day. Predators have been known to die as a result of quill penetration and infection. Never Morphed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PorcupineRABBITMammal. Weight: .4-2kg. Length: 20-50cm. Ear length: apprx. 10cm (4in). Sight: Good. Hearing: Excellent. Smell: Excellent. Rabbits have long, powerful hind legs and a short tail. Each foot has five digits (one reduced). Most rabbits are relatively solitary and sometimes territorial. During territorial disputes rabbits will sometimes “box,” using their front limbs. Rabbits are generally nocturnal, and they also are relatively silent. The only auditory signal known for most species is a loud foot thump made to indicate alarm or aggression. Can run up to 48kph (30mph). Morphed in: #23 The Pretender. RACCOONMammal. Weight:3-16kg (6.6-35lbs). Body Length: 60-90cm (24-36in). Tail Length: 25cm-10in (Sorry about the change of unit). Eyesight: Not very good. Smell: Fairly good at close range. Hearing: Good. Touch: Very Good. Nocturnal. It can walk, run, climb, and swim. Morphed in: #13 The Change pelotes.jea.com/raccoon.htmen.wikipedia.org/wiki/RaccoonLegacy: Lucas, Helena RED-EYED TREE FROG Amphibian. Length: 7cm (3in). Bright markings along the sides and limbs reduces predation. Most animals that prey on it often rely on their vision. When the frog moves to avoid the predator the bright colorations flash into view and throw off the predator. This is achieved by leaving a ghost image in the visual field of where the frog was originally. This confuses the predator and gives the frog time to hide. These flash colors may also deceive predators by making the frog appear poisonous. Never Morphed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agalychnis_callidryasRED PANDAMammal. Weight: 6.5-13 pounds (3-6 kg). Many subspecies are extremely docile, and would never bite a human; they are harmless to humans. ~Suji en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sand_boaSKUNK Mammals. Weight:.5-8.2kg (1.1-18lbs). Body Length: 40-70cm (15.6-37in). Top Speed: 10mph. Crepuscular/Nocturnal. They have a moderately elongated body with reasonably short, well-muscled legs, and long front claws for digging. They can swim, but are poor climbers. The skunks senses of sight, smell and hearing are poor compared with those of other animals. The best-known feature of skunks is their anal scent glands, which they can use as a defensive weapon. Adult skunks are accurate within 10 feet and can spray up to 25 feet. The body of an adult jellyfish consists of a bell shape producing jelly and enclosing its internal structure, from which tentacles are suspended. Each tentacle is covered with cells called cnidocytes, that can sting or kill other animals. Jellyfish lack basic sensory organs and a brain, but their nervous systems and rhopalia allow them to perceive stimuli, such as light and odor, and respond quickly. Most jellyfish are passive drifters and slow swimmers, as their shape is not hydrodynamic. Jellyfish have ocelli: light-sensitive organs that do not form images but are used to determine up from down, responding to sunlight shining on the water's surface. They do not need a respiratory system since their skin is thin enough that the body is oxygenated by diffusion. They are mainly herbivores, spending most of their time grazing in shallow waters and at depths of 1-2 metres (3-7ft). Can hold their breath for maximum 20 min. They can move freely between different salinity extremes. They have a large flexible prehensile upper lip that acts in many ways like a shortened trunk, somewhat similar to an elephant's. PUFFER/BLOW/PORCUPINE FISH
Fish. Porcupinefish have the ability to inflate their body by swallowing water (or air) and become round like a ball. A second defense mechanism is provided by the sharp spines, which radiate outwards when the fish is inflated. Some species are poisonous, having a tetrodotoxin in their skin and/or intestines. Tetrodotoxin is an exceptionally lethal poison. Tetrodotoxin is approximately 1,200 times deadlier than cyanide. It is estimated that a single puffer has enough poison to kill 30 adult humans. Death results from suffocation as diaphragm muscles are paralyzed. Patients who live longer than 24 hours are expected to survive, although the poison can cause comas lasting several days. Many people report being fully conscious during the entirety of the coma, and can often remember everything that was said while they were supposedly unconscious. Although commonly called a "river otter", the name can be misleading, as it inhabits marine as well as freshwater environments, and the freshwater environments include standing bodies of water such as lakes. It can tolerate a great range of temperature and elevations. The North American river otter is capable of swimming in circles, which creates a whirlpool-like motion that brings fish from the bottom of the water up to the top. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_river_otterLegacy: Fin, Alain SEAL Mammal. Weight: 55-168kg (120-370lbs). Length: 1.4-1.85m (4.6-6ft) and less. These measurements are for the common seals. They lack external ears and have sleek, streamlined bodies. They are more streamlined than fur seals and sea lions and can therefore swim more effectively over long distances. However, because they cannot turn their hind flippers downward, they are very clumsy on land. SEA LION en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_lionLegacy: Aubrey, Kovu SEA OTTER Mammal. Weight: 14-45kg (30-100lbs). Length: 1-1.5m (3.25-5ft). Unlike most marine mammals, the sea otter's primary form of insulation is an exceptionally thick coat of fur, the densest in the animal kingdom. The fur consists of long waterproof guard hairs and short underfur; the guard hairs keep the dense underfur layer dry. As the ability of the guard hairs to repel water depends on utmost cleanliness, the sea otter has the ability to reach and groom the fur on any part of its body, taking advantage of its loose skin and an unusually supple skeleton. The nostrils and small ears can close. The hind feet are long, broadly flattened, and fully webbed. The fifth digit on each hind foot is longest, facilitating swimming while on its back, but making walking difficult. The tail is fairly short, thick, slightly flattened, and muscular. The front paws are short with retractable claws, with tough pads on the palms that enable gripping slippery prey. It is capable of speeds of up to 9 km/h (5.6 mph) in water. The sea otter's body is highly buoyant because of its large lung capacity and the air trapped in its fur. The sea otter walks with a clumsy rolling gait on land, and can run in a bounding motion. Long, highly sensitive whiskers and front paws help the sea otter find prey by touch when waters are dark or murky. The sense of smell is more important than sight as a warning sense. The sea otter's sense of sight is useful above and below the water, although not as good as that of seals. Its hearing is neither particularly acute nor poor. In contrast to most other marine mammals, it also drinks seawater. Its relatively large kidneys enable it to derive fresh water from sea water. It can hold its breath for up to five minutes. Hearing: Very Good. Echolocation. Only mammals capable of flight.Because their wings are much thinner than those of birds, bats can manoeuvre more quickly and more precisely than birds. The surface of their wings are also equipped with touch-sensitive receptors on small bumps called Merkel cells. These sensitive areas are different in bats as each bump has a tiny hair in the center making it even more sensitive, and allowing the bat to detect and collect information about the air flowing over its wings. The colorful, giant bill, which in some large species measure more than half the length of the body, is the hallmark of toucans. Despite its size it is very light, being composed of bone struts with little solid material between them. The bill has forward-facing serrations resembling teeth. A toucan's tongue is long (up to 14-15 cm, or 6 inches), narrow, grey, and singularly frayed on each side, adding to its sensitivity as an organ of taste. In its spine the rear three vertebrae are fused and attached to the spine by a ball-and-socket joint. Because of this, toucans may snap their tail forwards until it touches the head. This is the posture in which they sleep, often appearing simply as a ball of feathers, with the tip of the tail sticking out over the head. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toucan

LEVEL YELLOW BUG MORPHS Updated 09/09/10 ANTInsect. They are known for their highly organized colonies and nests, which sometimes consist of millions of individuals. Individuals are divided into sub-fertile, and more commonly sterile, females ("workers", "soldiers", and other castes), fertile males ("drones"), and fertile females ("queens"). Ant colonies are sometimes described as superorganisms because the colony appears to operate as a unified entity. Like other insects, ants smell with their long and thin antennae that are fairly mobile and since they come in pairs they provide information about direction as well as intensity. Some are known to migrate over large distances. Some butterflies have evolved symbiotic and parasitic relationships with social insects such as ants. Butterflies are important economically as one of the major agents of pollination. As adults, butterflies consume only liquids and these are sucked by means of their proboscis. Butterflies sense the air for scents, wind and nectar using their antennae. Vision is well developed in butterflies and most species are sensitive to the ultraviolet spectrum. Some butterflies have organs of hearing and some species are also known to make stridulatory and clicking sounds. Many butterflies are migratory and capable of long distance flights. They migrate during the day and use the sun to orient themselves. They also perceive polarized light and use it for orientation when the sun is hidden. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ButterflyLegacy: Cassie, Matt COCKROACH Insect. Legnth:30mm (1.2in). The cockroach nervous system is rather simple, with the vital functions distributed in the ventral Ganglions. Thus a cockroach will be able to survive sterile surgical decapitation for a very long period, especially if recently fed. A decapitated animal will be severely hampered by the loss of feelers and sight as well as the majority of its central nervous tissue. A headless cockroach will of course be unable to feed and eventually die from starvation within a few weeks. Cockroaches are among the hardiest insects on the planet, some species capable of remaining active for a month without food. Some can go without air for 45 minutes or slow down their heart rate. Cockroaches are mainly nocturnal and will run away when exposed to light. They tend to be nocturnal and are often confused with grasshoppers because they have a similar body structure including jumping hind legs. Crickets do not rub their hind legs together to chirp. The left forewing of the male has a thick rib (a modified vein) which bears 50 to 300 ridges. The chirp (which only male crickets can do) is generated by raising their left forewing to a 45 degree angle and rubbing it against the upper hind edge of the right forewing, which has a thick scraper. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket_%28insect%29Legacy: Gage EARWIGInsect. Coccinellids are small insects, ranging from 1-10mm (0.04 to 0.4 inches). Coccinellids are typically predators of aphids and scale insects. Most coccinellids are indeed poisonous to smaller predators, such as lizards and small birds; however, a human would have to eat several hundred coccinellids before feeling any effects. Weight: 2.5mg. Length:16mm (.6in). A mosquito can fly for 1 to 4 hours continuously at up to 1–2 km/h[4] travelling up to 10 km in a night. Most species are nocturnal or crepuscular (dawn or evening) feeders. The head contains two compound eyes and proboscis. The proboscis is a piercing mouthpart used to suck blood from its prey. The mosquito's head is mostly eye. Each eye is made up of many tiny lenses forming a compound eye. This type of eye allows a very big field of vision that easily detects movement. They can stand on still water. Only female mosquitoes bite animals to get blood needed to produce eggs. Male mosquitoes do not bite. As opposed to a syringe's typically smooth needle, the mosquito proboscis is highly serrated, which leaves a minimal number of points of contact with the skin being pierced — this reduces nerve stimulation to the point where the "bite" is typically not felt at all. The aardwolf is a small, insectivorous hyena-like mammal, native to Eastern and Southern Africa. It is related to hyenas, but unlike its relatives, it does not hunt large prey. It feeds mainly on termites and can eat more than 200,000 in a single night, using its long, sticky tongue to collect them. The aardwolf is primarily solitary (especially with the males), but a mating pair will occupy the same territory with their young. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AardwolfALPACA en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AlpacaANTEATER Mammal. Length: 35cm-1.8m (14in-6ft), dependent on the species. Its food consists mainly of termites, which it obtains by opening nests with its powerful sharp anterior (front) claws. As the insects swarm to the damaged part of their dwelling, it draws them into its mouth by means of its long, flexible, rapidly moving tongue covered with sticky saliva. Their tongue can be flicked up to 150-160 times or more per minute. The Giant Anteater and regular anteaters have no teeth. When attacked, it can defend itself with its sabre-like anterior claws. Morphed in:#24 The Suspicion en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AnteaterARMADILLOMammal. Length: 75cm (30in). Armadillos are prolific diggers. Armadillos have poor vision but are not blind. The armor is formed by plates of dermal bone covered in relatively small, overlapping epidermal scales called "scutes," composed of bone with a covering of horn. In most species, there are rigid shields over the shoulders and hips, with a number of bands separated by flexible skin covering the back and flanks. Additional armor covers the top of the head, the upper parts of the limbs, and the tail. The underside of the animal is never armored, and is simply covered with soft skin and fur. Only the South American three-banded armadillos rely heavily on their armor for protection. When threatened by a predator, Tolypeutes frequently roll up into a ball. (Other armadillo species cannot roll up because they have too many plates.) This species is the only known animal that is able to inflate its own intestine in order to float across a river which often doubles its size. It can also hold its breath for up to 6 minutes in order to walk across the bottom of narrow rivers. Length: 2.5-79cm (1-31in). Depends on the species. Their specialized feet allow chameleons to grip tightly to narrow branches. Chameleons have a long tail that is sometimes used as a weapon. A chameleon uses its tail almost like a fifth leg. The upper and lower eyelids of their eyes are joined, with only a pinhole large enough for the pupil to see through. They can rotate and focus separately to observe two different objects simultaneously. It in effect gives them a full 360-degree arc of vision around their body. Both eyes can be focused in the same direction, giving sharp stereoscopic vision and depth perception. They have very good eye sight for reptiles, letting them see small insects from a long(5-10cm) distance. They might be deaf, but can sense vibrations like snakes. Chameleons have very long tongues (sometimes longer than their own body length). The tongue extends out faster than human eyes can follow, at around 26 body lengths per second. The tongue hits the prey in about 30 thousandths of a second. The tongue has a sticky tip on the end. The tongue's tip is a ball of muscle, and as it hits its prey, it rapidly forms a small suction cup. Used for burrowing. Hedgehogs occasionally perform a ritual called anointing. When the animal comes across a new scent, it will lick and bite the source and then form a scented froth in its mouth and paste it on its spines with its tongue. LEVEL GREEN AIR MORPHS Updated 09/09/10 ALBATROSSThe albatrosses are a group of large to very large birds. The bill is large, strong and sharp-edged ending in a large hook. This bill is composed of several horny kids, and along the sides are the two "tubes", long nostrils. These tubes allow the albatrosses to have an acute sense of smell. The feet have no hind toe and the three anterior toes are completely webbed. The legs are strong. The wingspans of the largest great albatrosses are the largest of any bird, exceeding 340 cm (over 11 feet), although the other species' wingspans are considerably smaller. The wings are stiff and cambered, with thickened streamlined leading edges. Albatrosses travel huge distances with two techniques, dynamic soaring and slope soaring. Albatross have high glide ratios, around 22:1 to 23:1, meaning that for every metre they drop, they can travel forward 22 metres. They are aided in soaring by a shoulder-lock, a sheet of tendon that locks the wing when fully extended, allowing the wing to be kept outstretched without any effort. Their adaptation to gliding flight makes them dependent on wind and waves, however, as their long wings are ill-suited to powered flight and most species lack the muscles and energy to undertake sustained flapping flight. Their eyesight is much better than the other spiders and most, if not all, insects. Jumping spiders have good vision, with sensitivity extending into the ultra-violet range, and use it for hunting and navigating. They are capable of jumping from place to place, secured by a silk tether. Both their book lungs and the tracheal system are well-developed, as they depend on both systems (bimodal breathing). Their well developed internal hydraulic system extends their limbs by altering the pressure of body fluid (blood) within them. This enables the spiders to jump without having large muscular legs like a grasshopper. The jumping spider can therefore jump 20 to 60 or even 80 times the length of their body. When a jumping spider is moving from place to place, and especially just before it jumps, it tethers a filament of silk to whatever it is standing on. Should it fall for one reason or another, it climbs back up the silk tether. Minute hairs and claws on their feet enable them to grip imperfections in the glass. Also known as the many-banded cobra, not much is known about this snake. It is not deemed responsible for many deaths, though it does have venom. It does 'burrow,' given its name. Grows to about a two foot maximum. Their 'hoods' aren't that pronounced. ~Suji en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranaja_multifasciata
BANDED-WATER COBRA
Banded-water cobras are heavy bodied snakes, with tails that can account for up to 25% of their length. Can grow up to around 7 feet. Semi-aquatic, as the name suggests, they feel at home in water though they aren't really sea snakes (they can also be agile on land). Their hoods are narrower than the classic cobra. They can dive up to 25ft. Their poison isn't very potent, but their versatility makes me think they should stay at blue level. ~Suji www.kingsnake.com/elapids/banded_water_cobra.htm
BLACK-SPITTING COBRA
Black-spitting cobras grow to about 5ft in length, and have very dark scales. They not only spray venom, but are also known for biting (probably because they like to hunt rats in areas where there are humans). Their bites can be fatal if untreated, and as with other spitting snakes, their venom may blind if not well rinsed from the eyes. ~Suji www.forestry.sarawak.gov.my/forweb/wildlife/fauna/reptile/bscobra.htm Legacy: Sophie, Fin
GIANT SPITTING COBRA
The Giant Spitting cobra, as indicated by its name, is the largest of the spitting cobras. They are on average around 6ft in length, but can reach up to 9ft. Due to their size, their venom is not necessary more potent than other spitting cobras, but this animal can deliver a lot of it in one go. Fatality is not strongly associated with this animal, but its venom is known for killing tissue around the wound, and if spitting is successful (aiming for the eyes) blindness can result in untreated victims. ~Suji en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naja_ashei
MONOCLED COBRA Taken
The Monocled cobra, like the spectacled cobra, is named for the ornamental display of scales on the back of its hood. In this case, a circle, or monocle--though sometimes two 'monocles' can be present on the same hood. Though much less venomous than the King Cobra, it is known to be responsible for many deaths, as it lives in areas frequented by people and is naturally aggressive. Their venom works much like the spectacled cobra, in that it induces organ destruction and respiratory failure. They grow to be about 6ft long.~Suji www.rfadventures.com/Monocled%20Cobra.htm Legacy: Suji
SPECTACLED COBRA
Also known as the Indian cobra, the spectacled cobra gets its name from the decoration of its hood. It is the most famous of the four most venomous snakes in India. They generally grow to around the 3ft mark, and rarely reach up to 6ft. Its venom leads to paralysis and respiratory failure if envenomation is serious and left untreated. ~Suji en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectacled_Cobra COYOTEen.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoyoteLegacy: Kat GILA MONSTERen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gila_monsterGORILLAMammal. The average length of an adult is between 18-20ft, with lengths exceeding 25ft being extremely rare. Females are longer than males. Like yellow anacondas, they prefer aquatic environments, as they can move their large mass much more quickly in the water. On land they are very slow. They have an aggressive disposition, and have been known to be able to eat crocodiles and jaguars, though this doesn't happen often.~Suji Morphed in: #53 The Answer. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_anacondaHYENA en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HyenaLegacy: Tim, Adriel KANGAROOMarsupial. Weight: 84.8kg (187lbs). Height/Length: 1.8m (5.9ft). The Red Kangaroo's legs work much like a rubber band. The males can leap over nine meters in one leap. It has two appendages with small claws (much like arms), two muscular legs, which are used for jumping, and a tail, which is often used like a third leg for balance. The Red Kangaroo's range of vision is approximately 300 degrees due to the position of their eyes. When male kangaroos fight, they may appear to be 'boxing'. They usually stand up on their hind limbs and attempt to push their opponent off balance by jabbing him or locking forearms. If the fight escalates, they will begin to kick each other. Bushmasters are the longest (though not the heaviest) vipers. COTTONMOUTH
The largest of the moccasin species. Also known as the water moccasin because they prefer swampy areas--often confused with the copperhead. Swims by floating most of its body on the top of the water. Venom is generally less strong than rattesnakes, and very rarely fatal, though antivenin is regularly used to treat cottonmouth bites. ~Suji en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agkistrodon_piscivorus
WESTERN DIAMONDBACK RATTLESNAKE Taken
Length: 120-180cm (4-6ft). They are one of the more aggressive rattlesnake species found in North America because they rarely back away from confrontation. When threatened they usually coil and rattle to warn aggressors. Although the venom of the diamondback isn't particularly toxic, the size of the snake allows a larger capacity of venom which is released from its two prominent fangs. All pit vipers have the ability to control the flow of venom through their fangs, allowing the diamondback to release most of its venom in a single strike (though often a pit viper will not release any of its venom). Most of the toxin released is proteolytic like all other American pit vipers. Proteolytic venoms are advanced and concentrated fluids that destroy tissues and other cells through intramolecular digestion. A few toxic effects include: cytotoxic (destroys cells), hemotoxic (destroys red blood cells), myotoxic (causes paralysis and muscle destruction), hemorrhagic (causes persistent bleeding). The smaller the victim the less time it takes for the venom to spread. Morphed in: #8 The Alien. Legacy: Ax, Jullian POISON DART FROG Amphibian. Length: 6cm appx. The frogs are often called poison dart frogs due to indigenous peoples' use of their toxic excretions to poison the tips of arrows and blowdarts. In fact, of over 175 species of poison frog, only three have been documented as being used for this purpose. The most poisonous of the frogs used for poisoning darts is the two-inch-long Golden Poison Frog. Poison dart frogs tend to live on or close to the ground, as well as in trees as much as 20ft from the ground. They excrete poison through their skin, however their bodies do not make the poison itself, instead it gets poisons from the ants and mites it eats. Body length: 1.3-1.5m (4.24-5ft). Height: 81-104cm (2.652-3.375ft). The "horns" of the pronghorn are of special interest. Each horn is comprised of a slender, laterally-flattened blade of bone which grows from the frontal bones of the skull, forming a permanent core. Skin covers the bony cores, but in the pronghorn it develops into a keratinous sheath which is shed and regrown on an annual basis. The horn sheaths of the pronghorn are branched, each sheath possessing a forward pointing tine (hence the name pronghorn). They also have very large eyes, with a 320 degree field of vision. It can run exceptionally fast, being built for maximum predator evasion through running, and is generally accepted to be the fastest land mammal in the New World. The top speed is very hard to measure accurately and varies between individuals; it is variously cited as up to 70 km/h(43.5mph), 72 km/h(44.74mph), or 86 km/h(53.44). It is often cited as the second-fastest land animal, second only to the cheetah. It can however sustain high speeds longer than cheetahs. Although built for speed, it is a very poor jumper. Bush vipers are generally confined to rain forests and are generally arboreal. The range from 40cm to a maximum of 78 cm, with prehensile tails used to support their bodies while suspending from branches. They come in a ton of different colors and patterns, even in single species. Specific antivenin for this species does not exist, but there have been very few reports of bites, let alone fatalities. Other antivenin's can be used as substitutes. ~Suji en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheris
PUFF ADDERS
Puff adders "are known for their characteristic threat displays that involves inflating and deflating their bodies while hissing and puffing loudly." They are also "terrestrial ambush predators and appear sluggish, but can strike with amazing speed." As far as venom goes, "the venom has cytotoxic effects[12] and is one of the most toxic of any viper...About 100 mg is thought to be enough to kill a healthy adult human male, with death occurring after 25 hours or more. The average specimen may have enough venom to kill 4 to 5 men." Still, death only occurs in less than 10% of UNTREATED cases, usually taking 2-4 days. ~Suji en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitis
RUSSELL'S VIPER
Russell's vipers, also known as chain vipers, grow to a maximum length of 5.5ft. The are terrestrial and nocturnal. When they bite they may snap forward and back, or even hang on for a few seconds. They produce a considerable amount of venom. After an bite, "severe pain may last for 2-4 weeks. Locally, it may persist depending on the level of tissue damage. Often, local swelling peaks within 48-72 hours, involving both the affected limb and the trunk. If swelling up to the trunk occurs within 1-2 hours, massive envenomation is likely." ~Suji en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daboia

Their narrow chests and powerful backs and legs facilitate efficient motion. They are capable of covering several miles trotting at about a pace of 10 km/h (6 mph), and have been known to reach speeds approaching 65 km/h (40 mph) during a chase. There is a slight webbing between each toe, which allows them to move over snow more easily. Wolves' long, powerful muzzles help distinguish them from other canids. Their jaws are capable of exerting impressive force as they hold on to their prey. The bite force exerted by an adult crocodile has been shown to measure 5,000 lbf (22 kN) or more. However the muscles responsible for opening the mouth are exceptionally weak, allowing a man to easily hold them shut with a small amount of force. Their mouths are filled with a total of 64 to 68 cone-shaped teeth. They are capable of taking animals up to the size of an adult male water buffalo, either in the water or on dry land. Generally very lethargic – a trait which helps it survive months at a time without food – it typically loiters in the water or basks in the sun through much of the day, preferring to hunt at night. Capable of explosive bursts of speed when launching an attack from the water, many species of crocodile are also capable of fast land-movement. These arms are a type of muscular hydrostat (like human tongues). No internal skeleton. A beak, similar in shape to a parrot's beak, is the only hard part of their body. This enables them to squeeze through very narrow slits between underwater rocks, which is very helpful when they are fleeing from morays or other predatory fish. Octopuses have three hearts. Two pump blood through each of the two gills, while the third pumps blood through the body. They also have blue blood. Octopuses are highly intelligent. They do have both short- and long-term memory. There has been much speculation to the effect that almost all octopus behaviors are independently learned rather than instinct-based, although this remains largely unproven. Most octopuses can eject a thick blackish ink in a large cloud to aid in escaping from predators. This ink cloud dulls smell. Have the ability to change color. When under attack, some octopuses can detach their own limbs, in a similar manner to the way skinks and other lizards detach their tails. Octopuses have keen eyesight, though it's not in color. Octopuses also have an excellent sense of touch. Very poor sense of self, meaning that it can't tell where it's own body parts are very well. Octopuses move about by crawling or swimming. Sperm whales have 20–26 pairs of cone-shaped teeth in their lower jaw, each 8–20 cm (3–8 in) long.[5] Each tooth can weigh as much as one kilogram. Before diving, cold water is brought through a organ in the head full of wax and the wax is solidified. The increase in specific density generates a down force (approx 40 kg equiv) and allows the whale effortless sinking. During the chase in deep levels (max 3,000m) the stored oxygen is consumed and excess heat melts the spermaceti. Now only hydrodynamic forces (by swimming) keep the whale down before effortlessly surfacing. The cheetah is unique in its speed and stealth, while lacking climbing abilities. It is the fastest land animal, reaching speeds between 112 kilometres per hour (70 mph) and 120 kilometres per hour (75 mph) in short bursts covering distances up to 460 metres (1,500 ft), and has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 110 kilometres per hour (68 mph) in three seconds, greater than most supercars. The cheetah's paws have semi-retractable claws offering the cat extra grip in its high-speed pursuits. Adaptations that enable the cheetah to run as fast as it does include large nostrils that allow for increased oxygen intake, and an enlarged heart and lungs that work together to circulate oxygen efficiently. Running at speeds up to 75 MPH puts a great deal of strain on the cheetah's body. When sprinting, the cheetah's body temperature becomes so high that it would be deadly to continue - this is why the cheetah is often seen resting after it has caught its prey. If it is a hard chase, it sometimes needs to rest for half an hour or more. Elephants have well innervated trunks, and an exceptional sense of hearing and smell. The hearing receptors reside not only in ears, but also in trunks that are sensitive to vibrations, and most significantly feet, which have special receptors for low frequency sound and are exceptionally well innervated. African elephants are equipped with two fingerlike projections at the tip of their trunk, while Asians have only one. According to biologists, the elephant's trunk may have over forty thousand individual muscles in it, making it sensitive enough to pick up a single blade of grass, yet strong enough to rip the branches off a tree. An elephant's skin is extremely tough around most parts of its body and measures about 2.5cm (1 in) thick. However, the skin around the mouth and inside of the ear is paper thin. The head is robust and the jaw extremely powerful. It has been suggested that the jaguar has the strongest bite of all felids, and the second strongest of all mammals; this strength is an adaptation that allows the jaguar to pierce turtle shell. While the jaguar employs the deep-throat bite-and-suffocation technique typical among Panthera, it prefers a killing method unique amongst cats: it pierces directly through the temporal bones of the skull between the ears of prey with its canine teeth, piercing the brain. With prey such as dogs, a paw swipe to crush the skull may be sufficient. The box jellyfish is considered the most dangerous and most venemous jellyfish; and possibly the most dangerous animal in the entire world. Length:13-18m (43-59ft). hey catch prey using the two tentacles, gripping it with serrated sucker rings on the ends. Then they bring it toward the powerful beak, and shred it with the radula (tongue with small, file-like teeth) before it reaches the esophagus. Adult giant squids' only known predators are sperm whales and possibly Pacific sleeper sharks, found off Antarctica. The great white shark, Carcharodon carcharias, also known as white pointer, white shark, or white death, is an exceptionally large lamniform shark found in coastal surface waters in all major oceans. The colouration makes it difficult for prey to spot the shark because it breaks up the shark's outline when seen from a lateral perspective. When viewed from above, the darker shade blends in with the sea and when seen from below casts a minimal silhouette against the sunlight. A great white shark's teeth are serrated and when the shark bites it will shake its head side to side and the teeth will act as a saw and tear off large chunks of flesh. Great white sharks, like all other sharks, have an extra sense given by the Ampullae of Lorenzini, which enables them to detect the electromagnetic field emitted by the movement of living animals. Weight: 385-909kg (850-2000lbs). Length: 3.25-4.25m (11-14ft). It has been estimated that the tiger shark can swim at a maximum speed of around 32 km/h, with short bursts of higher speeds that last only a few seconds. Tiger sharks, as with other sharks, have small pits on the side of their upper bodies which hold electrical sensors called the ampullae of lorenzini, enabling them to detect small muscle movements of other creatures, allowing them to hunt in darkness. In addition, the tiger shark, like many other sharks, has a reflective layer behind the retina called tapetum lucidum which allows light-sensing cells a second chance to capture photons of visible light, enhancing vision in low light condition. Its teeth are highly specialized to slice through flesh, bone, and other tough substances such as the shells of sea turtles, and unusually among sharks, its upper and lower teeth have dissimilar shapes. Length: 71-96cm (28-38in). Wingspan: 168-244 cm (5.5-7.3ft). It reaches speeds of 56–70 km/h (35–44 miles per hour) when gliding and flapping, and about 48 km/h (30 miles per hour) while carrying fish. Eagles have structures on their toes called spiricules that allow them to grasp fish. Osprey also have this adaptation. Bald Eagles have powerful talons. Weight: 1.9 kg (4.189 lb). Wingspan: 168 cm (5.512 ft). "They're meant to represent royalty, motherhood, and prosperity. That is, of course, coming from a culture that also worships man-eating crocodiles." -Suji ~David en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_vultureLegacy: Suji GOLDEN EAGLEBird. Weight: 2.5-6.7kg (5.5-13.4lbs). Length: 66-100cm (26-40in). Wingspan: 150-240cm (4.9-7.9ft). As with many Falconiformes, females are considerably larger than males, in the case of the Golden Eagle they weigh one-fourth to one-third again as much as male birds. Golden Eagles have very good eyesight and can spot prey from a long distance. The talons are used for killing and carrying the prey, the beak is used only for eating. Golden eagle prey includes marmots, hares and mice, and sometimes birds, martens, foxes, young deer, and livestock including lambs and young goats. Length: 46-68cm (18-27in). Wingspan: 101-153cm (40-60.5in). Owls also have spectacular binocular vision needed to pinpoint prey and see in low light. Owls cannot move their eyes like we can. They are locked in a special circular bone. Therefore, their neck must be able to turn a full 270 degrees in order to see in other directions without moving its entire body. An owl's hearing is as good — if not better — than its vision. Owls have stereo hearing that allows them to find the exact location of their prey. Their hearing has better depth perception than human hearing and better perception of sound elevation (up-down direction). The latter is possible because owl ears are not placed in the same position on either side of their head: the right ear is typically set higher in the skull and at a slightly different angle. By tilting or turning its head until the sound is the same in each ear, an owl can pinpoint both the horizontal and vertical direction of a sound. These birds also have 500 pounds per square inch of crushing power in their talons. A normal man has about 60 pounds per square inch in his hands.Morphed in: #6 The Capture. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_horned_owlGRIFFON VULTUREen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griffon_vultureGYRFALCON Bird. Weight: 805-2100g (1.8-4.6lbs). Length: 48-65cm (19-26in). The Gyrfalcon is a bird of tundra and mountains, with cliffs or a few patches of trees. It feeds only on birds and mammals. Like other hierofalcons, it usually hunts in a horizontal pursuit, rather than the Peregrine's speedy stoop from a height. This species is an actively hunting carnivore. Its main prey are tree-dwelling mammals such as monkeys, coatis, and sloths; it may also attack other bird species. The talons are extremely powerful and help assist with suppressing prey. The Harpy Eagle can exert a pressure of 42 kgf cm² (4.1 MPa or 530lbf in) with its talons. It can also lift more than three-quarters of its body weight. Weight: 5.2kg (11.6 lbs). Length: 76-90 cm (30-36 in). Wingspan: 190-260cm (6.25-8.5ft). Its preferred habitat is the semi-desert and open savannah. It avoids dense forests but needs trees to nest in. The Martial Eagle hunts mostly in flight, circling high above its territory, and stooping sharply to catch its prey by surprise. Birds up to the size of a stork can be taken, but it more often chooses medium-sized ground-dwelling species such as francolins, guinea fowl or bustards. Remarkably, this powerful aggressive bird has been recorded as preying on 32 kg (82 lb) duikers. Never Morphed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martial_eagleOSPREYBird. Weight: 1.4-2kg (3-4.4lbs). Length: 52-60cm (20-24in). Wingspan: 150-180cm (5-6ft). Prey is first sighted when the Osprey is 10–40 metres (32–130 ft) above the water, after which the bird hovers momentarily then plunges feet first into the water. It is able to dive to a depth of one metre (3.3 ft). The Osprey is particularly well adapted to this diet, with reversible outer toes, sharp spicules on the underside of the toes, closable nostrils to keep out water during dives, and backwards-facing scales on the talons which act as barbs to help hold its catch. Morphed in: #2 The Visitor. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OspreyLegacy: Cassie, Marco PEREGRINE FALCONBird. Weight: 440-1500g. Length: 34-50cm (13-20in). Wingspan: 80-120cm (31-47in). The Peregrine Falcon is often stated to be the fastest animal on the planet in its hunting dive, the stoop, which involves soaring to a great height and then diving steeply at speeds commonly (but perhaps erroneously) said to be over 322 km/h (200 mph), and hitting one wing of its prey so as not to harm itself on impact. The air pressure from a 200 mph (320 km/h) dive could possibly damage a bird's lungs, but small bony tubercles in a falcon's nostrils guide the shock waves of the air entering the nostrils, enabling the bird to breathe more easily while diving by reducing the change in air pressure. To protect their eyes, the falcons use their nictitating membranes (third eyelids) to spread tears and clear debris from their eyes while maintaining vision.
