Sable glanced between the two, seeing Xander’s disappointed look and Gabriel’s humored expression before he shifted his weight from one foot to the other, glancing around the ship walls again as they talked. At first he was confused by their lingo but decided that was rather his brain not bothering to think about it.
When Xander introduced himself, Sable inclined his head briefly. He really didn’t have a story to give either of them, nothing interesting at all...well. It might be too late anyways. He was a music student...He was from New York..
Briefly he closed his eyes, standing there in the hallway with the others. It didn’t need to be pointed out that he was on the defensive already. He was on an alien ship in Antarctica.
Seiya...Sable wondered when he’d be meeting that person. Opening his eyes he looked up at the ceiling again, focusing on the glowing tubes for a moment. His stomach growled slightly.

"The Grinch gave everything back. It'd pretty much be impossible to have left more than him. Besides, I personally know your stomach is three times bigger than your heart." He heard Sable's stomach growl behind him and he turned to look over his shoulder. "And it looks like you aren't the only one so let's get food. Want to join for a while? Unless you're still sore about that cayenne pepper," Gabriel asked with a smirk, remembering the pepper he'd managed to sneak onto Xander's plate a couple of days ago. It hadn't really hurt him any but it had been funny to watch his reaction. He was just glad Seiya hadn't been in the room at the time, he had a feeling he'd have gotten in trouble.
"What do they've got in there today anyway," he asked as he started walking past Xander and into the cafeteria. "Please tell me you weren't on cooking duty today."

“Meant the prior part of the story, the crumb bit,” he crossed his arms careful with the remains of his power bar, “I work off all I eat, what about you Legend?” Xander raised an eyebrow powerfully.
“You caught me off guard,” Xander defended himself, “Which reminds me, wanna try Kimchi Jjigae? Bet you’ll think it’s brilliant.”
“Only cooking I did was for myself,” He stepped out of the way to let the others pass. If he had been cooking cayenne would have been the least of Gabriel’s problems. Xander smiled to himself as he remembered his mother’s cooking. He didn’t know what Gabe’s home cooked meals were like but there was a reason he never invited friends to dinner back in school.

Sable would have been comfortable just walking behind the two as the talked. He was still in a bit of a state of weariness, and the other two seemed to be good friends.
"If there's no one..cooking, I could," Sable spoke up tonelessly. A hopeful tone could be subjected to a turn down and disappointment. And it wasn't like he was really jumping for joy to cook anyways, but then again... He felt he had a talent for it. Especially if it was considered an art.
His eyes had been focused on the hallway in front of them but he glanced between the two again.

"Thank god for small favors or, in this case, Seiya for not putting you on cooking duty today. I wanted to actually be able to eat what was being offered." He turned when Sable offered to cook and looked at Xander, a little unsure of what to say.
"Well, if you want to I guess you could. I mean, I don't want to give you the impression that I don't want to prepare my own food or nothin'. I can cook and all. Much better than him actually," Gabriel said with a smile while indicating Xander. It wasn't exactly true. His culinary skills consisted of preparing eggs and throwing things in the frying pan and hoping for the best. "But like, if you want to you can."

He glanced at Sable with a smirk, “Do we have a chief in our midst? If you’re up to the task mate, go ahead.”
Xander stuck his tongue out at Gabriel. His food was more than eatable, when he wanted it to be. It seemed like barely anyone on the ship wanted to cook. If Sable was up to the job, more power to him. Right now the kitchen was more of a sitcom then something of the food channel. Thinking back to a number of events he laughed and said, “It’s a miracle you don’t explode toast Legend, or was it you that did that last week?”

It was evident that the two were very close now, teasing about cooking. Falling silent again he let them banter on as they walked, hoping the kitchen was close. He wondered what kind of food there was available here and what things he could make. Literally thousands of recipes flashed in his mind as they walked. Sable had a pretty good photographic memory. It helped with a lot of things especially studying.
A wave of weariness hit him, as if making sure to not be forgotten. Sable closed his eyes briefly as they walked, shaking the sleepiness off. Food first then sleep. Then...figure out what was going on around here. Seemed like a good idea.
