Name: Seiya Yoshirou
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Hometown: Yamagata
Nationality: Japanese American
Languages Spoken: English, Japanese, French
Description:
Seiya is a slim and fit 27 year old. His face is always clean shaven and he keeps his hair fairly short in order to keep it neat. Even the few times he's let it grow it is always clean and well combed out. Proper grooming is important to him and so his clothing is always pressed and it all fits him well. Not too tight but certainly not baggy. Even his morphing suit seems like it was made for him, which it was.
Back before the war started Seiya had kept himself in shape with frequent runs around the parks and beaches of whatever city he was in, along with frequent trips to the gym. He was never muscle bound but he's been able to lift his own weight and more his whole life. He was taught that it was a man's responsibility to keep his body in good shape. Anything less was a sign of laziness and a weakness of spirit.
His body suffered a bit in the months he spent on the run. He lost a lot of weight because there was little to eat and when there was food it was normally junk. But his body bounced back quickly enough after Cassie found and recruited him.
Skills:
Kickboxing
Cooking
Kayaking
Personality: Seiya is a pretty easy person to know and to be friends with. He is very open and friendly to those around him though he is not usually the one to start a conversation. He values self discipline and a strong work ethic, two traits he personally has in abundance. He can be very serious and intense if he is involved in a task and he won't stop doing something until it is done to his own satisfaction. That said, he knows how to cut loose and have a good time.
Those who know Seiya a bit better will also be able to tell you that he has a strong sense of right and wrong. His morals are deep seated and he can be very demanding of others, but never as demanding as he is of himself. He strives for personal excellence and expects other to do the same. He can sometimes slip into being too judgmental or harsh but he is quick to apologize when his transgressions are pointed out to him and he doesn't hold a grudge.
HIs philosophy about self discipline can be seen in the smallest aspects of his life. Whatever space Seiya occupies is always neat and clean. He takes personal grooming very seriously and believes that the way a person looks is very indicative of who they are.
Bio/History: Seiya was born in the small, mountain town of Yamagata in the Yamagata Prefecture of Japan. His family lived there for the first 10 years of his life before his father's company had a position open up in the States and the whole family moved to Austin, Texas.
Seiya enjoyed Texas and America but his parents were always worried about what would become of their son in an american school system. They always pushed him to bring home good grades and Japanese was the only language allowed to be spoken inside the house. They hoped that Seiya would do well enough to be able to go to college in Japan but when it came time for Seiya to start looking at colleges he decided he wanted to stay in the States.
Needless to say, his parents were not pleased but they decided to humor him and paid for him to take trips all over the country to visit the colleges of his choice. Seiya was in New York City visiting Bard, Columbia and NYU when it was attacked by the yeerks. Like everyone else, Seiya tried to run but, after spotting the patrols on all the roads leading out of the city ready to snap up the fleeing humans, Seiya turned back into the city. He never did get out, nor did he ever find out what happened to his parents. For years he lived in New York like a scavenger, hiding from the forces he couldn't fight. At first there was news of a resistance but slowly, one by one, the countries of the world fell and Seiya gave up hope.
Until he was rescued by a wolf that could speak that is. Cassie made him an animorph and Seiya became one of her many roaming member's, sent out to try to support and create resistance groups around America. In this case, non animorph ones. When Cassie decided to export the war Seiya seemed like the best choice for the job.
Starting Morphs:
Ferret
Housefly
Sea Otter
Scene with Parents:
"I got in!" he exclaimed as he stared down at the acceptance letter. He looked up at his father and showed him the letter. "I got in!" His father took the letter but gave Seiya a stern look as he did so.
"I'm happy for you," he said in crisp, clear japanese, chastising his son for using english inside the house, even in a moment of excitement.
Some of the exuberance drained from Seiya's expression and he bowed to the man sitting on the couch. "Thank you father," he said, using japanese this time. His father nodded and then took a closer look at the letter in his hand over the rim of his glasses.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" he asked, looking up at Seiya. Seiya knew his father wanted him to go back to Japan but he'd built a life for himself here and here was where he wanted to stay. Besides, in America he'd be able to choose what he studied, he'd have choices, he could change his mind. He felt he needed that freedom because he wasn't sure what he wanted to do yet and he needed to explore his options.
"Yes father," he answered respectfully.
